Meet the Frank Law + Advisory team

I am a corporate lawyer and advisor with a passion for helping founders and their businesses develop, grow, protect and realise their potential. I like to think I see cubes where others see squares.

I oversee the firm’s growth and development with particular focus on the growth of the @Work Service Model and the Advisory Team.

James is married and has 3 young kids and a chocolate lab. Enjoys batch coffee. Spends time with his family and at church while not working.

Bahar Agar, Director of Corporate & Commercial, advises clients across various industry sectors on a range of corporate securities and commercial transactions. With a keen focus on public and private mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, and corporate governance, Bahar has been recognised in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Mergers and Acquisitions Law for 2023 and 2024. Her experience includes advising on complex M&A transactions, capital raisings, ASX Listing Rules, and compliance with the Corporations Act. Bahar holds a Bachelor of Laws from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Social Science in Criminology and Social Policy from the University of New South Wales.

As the Director of Operations at Frank Law + Advisory, Sarah manages projects, drives strategy, and oversees all operational functions of the business. With a diverse professional background, including running her own custom cake business, Sarah excels in event coordination, project management, and operations management. Passionate about dogs, she enjoys spending time with her beautiful staffy, Daisy, and has a keen interest in event styling and floristry.

Scott Henderson is a seasoned public accountant with over 34 years of experience, advising on more than 330 international merger and acquisition transactions. He provides clients with transaction advisory services, focusing on middle-market, family-owned, and private equity-backed transactions. Outside of work, Scott enjoys running, volunteering, and spending time with his three teenage daughters.

Andrea specialises in civil and commercial litigation, and corporate and commercial work as well as having a longstanding interest in NFPs. She enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering, and indulging in adventurous culinary experiences like durian. Andrea is also an avid hiker, particularly enjoying trails in New Zealand.

Ben graduated from Macquarie University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science, before being admitted as a lawyer in 2024. Though early in his career, Ben already had experience in the areas of family law, criminal law, civil litigation and corporate & commercial law. He is able to provide comprehensive assessment of legal issues thanks to his varied experience across multiple practice areas. Outside the office, Ben enjoys climbing and playing ultimate frisbee.

Kylie is a versatile professional with a distinguished career spanning private and government spheres. Her dedication extends to volunteering on a not-for-profit board, showcasing her commitment to societal betterment. Proficient in industrial relations, work health and safety compliance, she navigates seamlessly through commercial and litigation matters. Beyond her legal acumen, Kylie finds joy in indulging in the artistry of sewing and leatherwork.

Kylie holds a BA LLB (Hons I) from the University of Sydney.

Liam Steele-Battig specialises in debt recovery and insolvency at Frank Law + Advisory. With a deep background in debt recovery across multiple sectors and for a diverse range of clients, Liam provides expert legal advice across various clients in the business. He holds a Bachelor of International Studies/Bachelors of Law, majoring in International Relations and Asian Studies, with a sub-major in Japanese. Liam enjoys playing basketball, traveling, reading, and listening to music.

Rhys Lyons is a lawyer with in-house and extensive M&A experience. He has an LLB from Western Sydney University and specialises in advising SMEs in the industrial space. He has handled complex transactions involving mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures, and is also interested in the legal aspects of innovation and technology. Outside of work, Rhys is a fan of football (Borussia Dortmund specifically) and a member of the State Emergency Service.

Lisa Pizzonia has dedicated her adult working life to the legal field, starting as a legal secretary and progressing to Senior Paralegal in Frank Law + Advisory’s litigation team. With experience in conveyancing, estates, estate planning, and litigation, Lisa enjoys assisting her colleagues and indulging in a good book during her downtime. She holds a Certificate III in Business Administration.

Breeann Lalao is a Law Clerk at Frank Law + Advisory and is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at Macquarie University. With a special interest in criminology and family law, Breeann enjoys watching crime documentaries and exploring new places in Sydney.

Abigail Jin brings over 15 years of customer service experience to her role as Client Coordinator at Frank Law + Advisory. Her career path is driven by a commitment to crafting meaningful client experiences and ensuring their satisfaction throughout their interactions with the firm.

In addition to her primary role, Abigail is involved in various essential functions within the business, including event management, marketing initiatives, and serving as personal assistant to the Chief Executive Partner.

Outside of work, Abigail channels her creativity into planning events, discovering new restaurants, and exploring a range of crafts and activities that reflect her commitment to creating memorable experiences.
